Chapter_52
Noah, sensing the anxiety in his mother’s voice, took a deep breath before explaining, “I overheard some of the bodyguards talking about how the VIC Group had been investigating the situation with the chip. They mentioned the parrot and… well, I knew I had to help. So, I snuck out to find you both. Miss Bell found me on the way and brought me back after hearing I was looking for you.”
Sadie blinked, trying to process everything. “The VIC Group? They’re connected to all of this? And the chip?”
Noah nodded, his expression serious. “Yes, Mom. It seems like Coco wasn’t just a pet. He’s somehow linked to something bigger. People have been after that chip for a while now, and it’s why they took you and the others.”
Brenda, who had been anxiously wringing her hands, suddenly gasped. “But… why? What is so important about a tiny chip? And what does the VIC Group have to do with it?”
Nathan, who had been quietly listening to the conversation, spoke up, his voice still trembling. “That man, Tiger, he said the chip was his. And he said he’d gotten it without much effort.” His words were shaking with the weight of everything that had happened. “But it’s inside Coco, and now they’re all after it. It’s not just about us anymore.”
Sadie’s head spun with the new revelations. “So… the VIC Group wants the chip, and that’s why they’re involved in all of this? And Tiger and his people… they’re working with them?”
Noah shrugged slightly. “I’m not sure about all the details. But from what I overheard, the VIC Group is after whatever’s on the chip. They think it’s crucial for some… project, I guess. Something to do with security or intelligence.”
Brenda’s eyes widened, her face pale. “This is bigger than we thought. And they’re willing to kidnap children to get it? This is insane.”
Sadie nodded, her grip tightening around Nathan and Mia as if to anchor herself. She hadn’t realized just how dangerous things had become. But now, it seemed like they were tangled in something far more complex than she could have ever imagined.
“Mom, what do we do now?” Nathan asked, his voice small.
Sadie took a deep breath, her mind racing with decisions. She couldn’t afford to hesitate—not with her children caught in the middle of it all. “We call the police, and we stay safe. We’ll figure out what’s going on, but we need to make sure no one gets hurt.”
Noah added, “I think we should be careful. The VIC Group has too many resources. We don’t know who’s working for them or how far they’ll go to get what they want.”
Sadie’s heart clenched. “You’re right. But we’re not going to let them take any more from us. We’ll fight for our family.”
She turned to Brenda, whose face was still full of worry. “Call the police, now. Let’s tell them everything we know. We need their help, now more than ever.”
As Brenda quickly dialed the authorities, Sadie felt a renewed sense of determination. They had a lot to figure out, and danger was closing in fast, but as long as her children were safe, she would stop at nothing to protect them.
This wasn’t just about a chip. It was about their lives—and she wasn’t going to let anyone tear her family apart.
