Carlisle watched as the screen lit up with the chaotic melee of players trying to take him down. With his Blood Lock cheat active, he couldn’t die, but that didn’t mean it was a walk in the park. The Makers of Chaos guild members, clearly intent on taking down someone they suspected was cheating, swarmed around him like bees to honey.
Carlisle’s hands flew over the keyboard, skillfully evading attacks while simultaneously damaging the Rainbow Demon Lord. His character moved with precision, dodging and casting spells in rapid succession. The others, no matter how skilled, couldn’t keep up with the speed of his movements.
“That guy’s gotta be cheating!” one of the players shouted in frustration. “Look at his equipment and damage—there’s no way!”
Carlisle smirked to himself, keeping his cool as he maneuvered around the group. He knew he had the upper hand, and even if they tried to take him down, the Blood Lock cheat would ensure he wouldn’t die, no matter how much damage they dealt.
Just then, a private message popped up on his screen from someone named “The Whisperwind.”
“Damn, Carlisle, what kind of cheat is that? Hook me up!”
Carlisle chuckled softly, reading the message. “Mr. Sanders?”
“Man, it hasn’t been that long, and you’ve forgotten me?” the message replied, almost teasingly.
“No, I haven’t,” Carlisle responded quickly. “This cheat belongs to someone else, and I can’t share it.”
The Whisperwind paused before replying again. “Alright, just be careful not to get banned,” the message read, sounding more like advice than a warning.
Carlisle grinned and replied, “Thanks, Mr. Sanders!” before turning his attention back to the fray. Ivan wasn’t interested in the chaos anymore, though; he’d gone off to farm smaller monsters, leaving Carlisle to deal with the Makers of Chaos by himself.
A few moments later, the chaos of the battle was interrupted by another private message. “Our guild leader is coming!” Ivan’s message read.
Carlisle, still focused on his fight, barely glanced at the message. “Thanks for the heads up,” he muttered under his breath. He had no intention of stopping, not while he was still in control.
Just then, out of nowhere, a max-level warrior appeared, wielding the Heavenly Sword. The sight of the weapon left Carlisle momentarily stunned.
“Holy crap, the Heavenly Sword!” Heath’s voice rang out from behind him. He and the others had been watching the battle unfold from a distance, but the appearance of such a legendary weapon had their full attention. Heath’s eyes were wide in disbelief. “That’s… that’s the Heavenly Sword! I’ve never seen one in the game before!”
Hank, who had been engrossed in his work, turned his head toward Carlisle’s screen as well, his fingers halting their rapid typing. “The Heavenly Sword…” he muttered. “That’s worth a fortune.”
Carlisle, still in the midst of a battle, barely had time to process what had just happened before another private message popped up on his screen. This one came from Ivan again.
“Mr. Sanders,” Carlisle typed quickly. “The Heavenly Sword that your guild leader has wouldn’t happen to be the one I sold you, would it?”
It took a few moments for the message to be read, and when the response came, it was short but revealing.
“Yeah, it’s the one. Why?”
Carlisle’s fingers hovered over the keys for a moment. The implications of this weren’t lost on him. That was the same sword he’d sold Ivan months ago, and now it was being wielded by the guild leader of the Makers of Chaos—his enemies.
“Just curious,” he typed back before returning his focus to the battle.
Heath and Hank were still watching him intently, clearly impressed by Carlisle’s ability to hold his ground despite the new threat. The guild leader wasn’t just any player; the Heavenly Sword was a rare, coveted item that could change the tide of a battle. But Carlisle wasn’t worried. His cheats were more than enough to handle whatever the guild leader could throw at him.
As the warriors clashed in-game, Carlisle couldn’t shake the feeling that things were about to get more complicated. The fact that Ivan’s guild leader had the sword was one thing, but the involvement of the Makers of Chaos could signal bigger problems ahead. However, Carlisle wasn’t one to back down. He’d come this far—now it was time to see if he could finish what he started.
