Carlisle took the note from Heath, glancing at the number written in neat handwriting. His mind immediately raced. This could be the breakthrough he needed. If Heath’s friend was indeed as skilled as he claimed, this could help him advance his plans faster.
“Thanks, Heath,” Carlisle said, his tone serious. “I might take you up on this later.”
Heath smiled, clearly pleased that Carlisle had shown interest. “Don’t mention it. My friend’s a genius when it comes to coding, and he’s made a lot of connections in the tech world. If you need any programming help, he’s the one to talk to.”
Carlisle nodded, his fingers already itching to type. He had a lot to think about—getting the business up and running, dealing with Mike and his threats, and now considering the possibility of leveraging technology to make everything happen faster.
After finishing his meal, Carlisle returned to the computer, his mind whirring with possibilities. He had to lay the groundwork for the small business he and his friend were planning. The sooner he set things in motion, the better his chances of succeeding, not just in the business world but also in handling the power dynamics at Riverland University.
Meanwhile, his thoughts occasionally drifted back to Mike and the threats he’d been receiving. It wasn’t just the threat itself that bothered him—it was the principle. He wasn’t used to being pushed around, especially not by someone like Mike, who had the arrogance of someone used to getting his way.
But Carlisle was determined not to be intimidated. He’d been reborn for a reason. He wasn’t going to let anyone control his life, not even someone as connected as Mike.
As evening approached, Carlisle wrapped up his work on the computer and checked his phone. There was a message from Wanda.
“How’s your day going? I hope you’re not too busy for our coffee this weekend. I’m looking forward to it!”
A smile tugged at Carlisle’s lips. It was just a simple message, but it reminded him of the balance he had to maintain—work, business, and his growing connection with Wanda.
He quickly typed back, “I’m definitely looking forward to it too. Let’s make it happen this weekend.”
Before he could set the phone down, a message popped up from Sean, asking if he had made any progress with Islo Clothing.
Carlisle thought for a moment. Now that he had Wanda’s help in reaching her uncle, things were moving in the right direction. But there was still a lot of work ahead.
He quickly typed, “It’s moving forward. I might have a meeting set up soon.”
As he sent the message, Carlisle sat back in his chair, the weight of everything starting to settle on his shoulders. But despite the pressure, there was a glimmer of hope. With the right strategy and the right people behind him, he was confident he could turn things around—not just for his future, but for everyone he cared about.
