Winston extended a hand, and Carlisle shook it firmly, exchanging greetings. The store was packed with all sorts of gadgets, and the faint hum of computers filled the air. It looked like a bustling hub, with a mix of students and professionals browsing through the aisles.
“Let’s talk about the computers you need,” Winston said, gesturing for Carlisle to follow him to a section of the store with several high-end gaming PCs. “We’ve got the latest models, and I can give you a good price since you’re Ivan’s friend.”
Carlisle eyed the rows of machines, his mind already calculating what kind of setup would suit his needs best. He wasn’t here just to buy some computers; he was laying the groundwork for something bigger. His game studio needed powerful machines, and he wanted to ensure they were top-of-the-line for the players he’d eventually attract.
“I’m looking to buy about five or six gaming computers to start,” Carlisle said, his voice steady. “I want quality machines, something that can run the most demanding games without issues. But price is still a concern. What can you offer?”
Winston looked over the selection, tapping on the screen of his phone as he calculated. “You’re looking at about four to five thousand per machine for the specs you’re asking about, but since you’re buying in bulk and Ivan gave you the recommendation, I can cut you a deal. How about we go with three thousand per unit?”
Carlisle raised an eyebrow, considering the offer. He knew Winston’s price was still on the higher end, but he also knew the value of having quality equipment for his business. These computers would last longer and perform better, something that would be crucial for his growing game studio.
“Deal,” Carlisle said confidently. “I’ll take six of them.”
Sean, who had been listening in, raised his eyebrows. “Carl, are you sure about this? That’s a pretty big investment.”
Carlisle nodded. “I need this if I’m going to make the studio work. The game’s popularity will require solid hardware. Plus, it’s an investment in the future.”
Winston smiled and started making the necessary arrangements. “We’ll have them ready for you by tomorrow. If you need any accessories or extra gear, just let me know.”
Carlisle and Sean exchanged glances. This was a significant step forward, but Carlisle could feel the momentum building. He was no longer just planning; he was starting to execute. The studio would be up and running soon, and he had the foundation in place.
Once the paperwork was sorted and a deposit was made, Carlisle and Sean left the store, heading back toward their temporary accommodations. The excitement in the air was palpable, but Carlisle’s thoughts remained focused on the bigger picture.
“I know this is a big gamble, but it’s one I have to take,” Carlisle said quietly as they walked.
Sean nodded, his expression turning serious. “You’ve got a vision, Carl. I think it’s going to work. But just remember, there are people out there who are going to try to stop you. You’ve got to stay sharp.”
“I will,” Carlisle replied, his resolve firm. “I’m not letting anyone or anything get in my way. This is just the beginning.”
