Chapter_55
Vivienne had no idea that her simple trip to the cafeteria would attract such attention. The students from Class Eighteen were infamous for their lack of respect for authority, but here was Logan, of all people, offering to buy her lunch. The cafeteria fell silent at his words, and whispers quickly began circulating.
“Did Logan just call her Ms. Vivienne?” one student muttered in disbelief.
“I can’t believe it either. Is he… actually respecting her?” another one asked.
The entire cafeteria seemed to be holding its breath, waiting for Vivienne’s reaction. She, however, just raised an eyebrow and gave Logan a small, appreciative nod. “Thank you, Logan,” she said, her voice calm and collected despite the weight of the situation. She didn’t want to draw unnecessary attention to herself, but she couldn’t help but notice how the dynamic in the room had shifted.
Logan was grinning from ear to ear, his admiration for Vivienne obvious to everyone. He was so thrilled by the idea of studying hard and proving himself that he seemed to be in a state of euphoria. His willingness to do whatever it took to improve his life was something Vivienne appreciated, even if it was a bit surprising considering his earlier attitude.
As Logan went off to grab the food, the murmurs in the cafeteria grew louder. Whispers about Vivienne’s unexpected authority spread like wildfire, leaving the students to wonder just who this teacher was. She wasn’t the typical stern, old-fashioned instructor they were used to. No, Vivienne was different. She had managed to make Logan—a student who’d been one of the most rebellious in Class Eighteen—actually respect her.
Meanwhile, Vivienne took a moment to herself, her gaze drifting around the cafeteria. She was still grappling with the reality of teaching Class Eighteen. The sheer magnitude of what she’d signed up for hadn’t fully hit her yet, but she could already sense that things were changing. Whether the students liked it or not, Vivienne was here to stay, and she had a plan to turn things around.
As Logan returned with a tray of food, he placed it in front of Vivienne with a shy but proud smile. “Here you go, Ms. Vivienne. I hope it’s okay.”
Vivienne gave him a small smile in return, feeling a bit of gratitude for the gesture. “Thank you, Logan. It’s much appreciated.”
The other students watched the exchange with wide eyes, their curiosity piqued. The respect between Vivienne and Logan was undeniable, and it left them wondering if they too could earn her approval. Maybe, just maybe, this could be the turning point for Class Eighteen.
As the meal continued, Vivienne couldn’t help but notice the subtle shift in the atmosphere. There was a sense of expectation now, a quiet acknowledgment that things were about to change. If Logan could do it, maybe the others could too. But for that to happen, Vivienne would have to push them, challenge them, and make sure they understood that she wasn’t going to settle for anything less than their best.
The rest of lunch passed uneventfully, with students eyeing Vivienne from across the room, their whispers growing quieter as they realized that this teacher was different. Vivienne, on the other hand, simply ate in silence, mentally preparing herself for the challenge ahead. It was clear that the next few months would test her patience, but she was determined to see it through.
As she finished her meal, Vivienne stood up, glancing over at the students who were still watching her closely. “Alright,” she said, her voice firm, “this isn’t over. You’ll be back in the classroom soon, and we’ll start again. And this time, I expect results.”
With that, she turned and left the cafeteria, her mind already on the work ahead. It was only the beginning, but Vivienne was ready to take on the challenge that was Class Eighteen.
