Chapter_48
The students froze in shock, their eyes wide as they watched Vivienne calmly and effortlessly deal with the snake in her hand. The classroom, which had been filled with the noise of mockery and excitement, fell into an eerie silence.
Vivienne didn’t even glance up as she held the snake with one hand, her other hand swiftly slicing through the air with the small knife. The sharp, precise motion severed the snake’s head cleanly. She set the lifeless creature down on the desk, her face as composed as ever.
Logan, who had been so confident in his ability to intimidate the new teacher, was now trembling on top of his chair. He could hardly believe his eyes.
“W-What… what just happened?” he stammered, his bravado entirely evaporating.
Vivienne’s gaze didn’t soften as she looked at him. Her voice, when she spoke, was cold and calm, cutting through the thick tension in the room. “Do you really think this kind of thing will intimidate me?”
The students were stunned. They had expected their usual tricks to drive the teachers away, but Vivienne wasn’t like the others. Her cool composure in the face of their antics made them nervous, and the atmosphere shifted from one of defiance to uncertainty.
Vivienne turned and addressed the entire class, her voice firm but not raised. “I’ll make this simple for you. If you think you can push me around like you’ve done with every other teacher, you’re mistaken. I won’t tolerate any of your antics.”
Her eyes scanned the room, locking with each student one by one. Some looked away, others stood frozen in place. But there was one thing they all realized—Vivienne wasn’t here to play games. She had already shown them that she was prepared for anything.
“I’m your teacher for the next three months,” she continued. “And in those three months, you will either learn to respect me and the rules, or you’ll face the consequences. It’s up to you how this goes. But I can promise you, it won’t be easy for anyone who tries to disrupt this class.”
Her words hung in the air, and for a long moment, no one dared to speak. It was clear that Vivienne’s presence had already begun to shift the dynamics in the room.
Charlotte, still standing in defense of her friend, took a step forward, her anger boiling. “You heard her. Leave her alone. She’s not like the rest of you. So stop playing your games.”
Logan, still shaken by the sight of Vivienne’s decisive actions, finally stepped down from his chair, his expression now less cocky and more cautious. He looked around at his classmates, who were equally unsure of how to respond.
Vivienne’s gaze softened just a fraction as she turned to Charlotte. “Thank you for standing up for me,” she said with a small, genuine smile. “But this is something I need to handle.”
Turning her attention back to the rest of the class, Vivienne added, “Now, let’s get one thing clear. I’ll take no part in your games. But if you want to make this year miserable for yourselves, I won’t stop you either. However, if you respect this classroom and each other, I’ll make sure your time here is worth it.”
She walked to the front of the room, placing the knife carefully down on the desk next to the dead snake. “Your choice. I’ll be right here, ready to teach you everything you need to know. But don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. I will not be intimidated.”
The class was silent now, but the tension in the room had shifted. No longer were the students laughing or jeering. Instead, they exchanged looks of uncertainty and a hint of respect. For the first time, they realized that maybe, just maybe, they weren’t dealing with someone who could be pushed around.
Vivienne stood tall at the front of the class, her presence undeniable. She had entered their world of chaos and disorder—and she was ready to turn it around.
