Chapter_50
The classroom was deathly silent, and the students couldn’t help but watch in awe and disbelief as Vivienne stood calmly, holding the snake with a relaxed air, while Oberon trembled in fear. His body stiffened in terror, his eyes locked on the snake just inches from his face, tongue flicking in and out.
His voice shook when he finally found it, “What… what are you doing?! You can’t do this to me, you’ll regret it!”
Vivienne didn’t even flinch. Her gaze was steady and calm as she adjusted the rope securing the snake to his body. “You’re not in control here, Oberon,” she said, her tone cold but collected. “But if you think this is bad, I suggest you rethink your approach to school. Because I will make sure you never forget the consequences of crossing me.”
The snake’s head bobbed, its flicking tongue seemingly mocking him. Oberon could hardly breathe. The humiliation of being tied up, of feeling the warmth of his own mistake spreading uncomfortably, was unbearable. His pride, which had been so strong moments ago, now felt like a crumbling fortress. All he could do was stare at the snake, hoping it wouldn’t bite, praying for the ground to swallow him whole.
Vivienne’s voice broke the silence again, but this time, her words cut through the tension like a blade. “What you’ve just experienced is a small lesson in humility. The world doesn’t revolve around your family’s name, Oberon. And if you ever think for a second that you can disrespect me or anyone else again, think back to this moment.”
Oberon was shaking, his face burning with embarrassment as he locked eyes with the snake, too terrified to speak. The students in the room were completely silent, their shock only deepening as they watched Vivienne stand over Oberon with such absolute control.
Her eyes swept the room, lingering on the other students, all of whom were frozen in place. “Remember this,” she continued, her voice still calm but carrying an unmistakable authority. “I’m here to teach. Not just you, but every single person in this room. The rules are simple: respect is earned, but fear is optional. Make your choice.”
For a few seconds, there was no sound—just the sound of Oberon’s shallow breathing, the rustle of the snake’s movement, and the tense quiet of the class. Then, a few hesitant murmurs started as the students began to process what had just transpired.
Logan, watching from a distance, felt a strange mix of admiration and fear for Vivienne. He had once thought she was someone to easily push around, but now, after watching her dismantle Oberon so effortlessly, he wasn’t so sure. He had never seen anyone hold so much power and confidence with such ease.
The snake, for its part, seemed to lose interest in Oberon, its tongue flicking lazily as it meandered away, but the terror in Oberon’s eyes hadn’t subsided. He remained frozen, humiliated, and defeated.
Vivienne stepped back from him with a light, almost playful smile. “The lesson’s over. You’re free to go—after you clean up that mess, of course.”
Oberon, too scared to move much at all, nodded weakly, the pride that had once made him untouchable now crushed into the floor with every glance the students threw his way.
Vivienne turned, addressing the rest of the class now. “I’ll repeat myself for those of you who may have missed it. I’m here to teach, and I won’t tolerate any nonsense. If you want to act like children, I’ll treat you like children. But if you’re serious about learning, I’ll be the best teacher you’ve ever had. The choice is yours.”
No one dared speak. The weight of her words hung in the air, and the students, who once thought they could rule the room, found themselves utterly subdued, unsure of how to react to the new, terrifying force that had entered their lives.
The moment Oberon was untied, Vivienne’s smile remained, a warning and a promise in one—this was only the beginning.
